What Is Neurofeedback Therapy?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive approach that aims to optimize your behaviors by overcoming any limitations or difficulty that is experienced. It is the direct way of training positive brain patterns, so it can function in a healthier, more supportive way.
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG Biofeedback, implements a cap of sensors that monitor brain waves in real-time with feedback presented as sound or images. In this process, the brain is positively rewarded for restructuring activity to more appropriate patterns.
Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the system (the central nervous system) to function better.

Why Is Neurofeedback Helpful?
Feeling your best begins with balance, and your brain plays a large role in this. When your brain waves are dysregulated, conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc., can manifest.
Neurofeedback therapy allows you to retrain specific areas of your brain to bring it back to its functional best.
You can compare this to your car after you’ve hit a pothole. Because it lost one of its tires, the rest are thrown out of alignment. Your car won’t work efficiently again until you have all the tires realigned.
Likewise, your brain won’t work efficiently until all of its regions are working in alignment. This is where neurofeedback comes into play.
How Does Neurofeedback Work?
Neurofeedback introduces a headband or cap with electrodes that are placed on the head.
When you begin Neurotherapy treatment, you’ll map out the brain through Quantitative EEG (QEEG). This will help identify what specific areas of your brain are out of alignment. Once you have this important baseline information, your neurofeedback therapy can be tailored to the areas that need a little TLC.
During your session, sensors placed on targeted areas of your head will show the current state of your brain compared to what it should be doing. A video of your choice, such as something YouTube or Netflix is played, and the brightness of the screen will adapt to push your brain closer to a more comfortable state. That’s it! Pain-free, drug-free, and completely non-invasive.

Neurofeedback As Integration
Neurofeedback is not a cure to conditions like depression and anxiety, instead, it helps regulate and integrate to help the brain function optimally. As positive brain functions improve, a person is better equipped to cope with stressors in everyday life.
This tool is great both on its own and paired with other modalities, as it helps reduce the duration, severity, and frequency of symptoms.
